Over 400 artists turned up for the Bhopal audition
Child artists to working actors, all through one room in a single day. The six-film series has started finding its faces.
More than four hundred performers auditioned for Mann Studios in Bhopal on 17 May. They ranged from child artists to actors and actresses with years of work behind them, and the queue did not really thin out until the evening.
Watching and selecting were director Hariom Sharma, producer and associate director of photography Mannish Patidar, production associate and designing expert Krishnakant Patidar, local line producer Mukesh Nagar, and casting director Nitesh Parashar. Selection is still in progress.
What they were auditioning for
Six films under the Mann Studios banner. Shooting begins about a month and a half after the audition: twelve days in Bhopal first, then locations across Madhya Pradesh over the following year to eighteen months. The full project is planned across three years, and the films are meant for a theatrical release and OTT both.
The point of holding the audition here is to give local talent a chance to move forward in the arts.
